On October 31st, Frontier will be hosting our Annual Halloween Parade and Party. Parents and families are welcome to come and enjoy the party with their children and watch our Halloween Parade. The parade will begin at 3:00 as students walk the concrete river. Halloween themed activities, along with all recess activities, will be available during our school wide party. Families are encouraged to dress up alongside of their children!
Please be aware of our costume guidelines. All costumes should be sent to school in a bag and should not be worn to school. Costumes need to fit over your child's clothing. Masks, face paint, hair dye, and weapons are not allowed, so please do not send them to school.
Costumes are available for students to borrow for the afternoon if needed.

Our kids have been hard at work over the last couple of weeks.
Mrs. Keef's 2nd graders have been busy learning about life cycles and practicing their sight words, while Mrs. LaMay's 3rd graders are mastering triple digit subtraction.
Keep working hard, Falcons!

Hurry! There's only a few days left to get your Texas Roadhouse orders in. Orders will arrive just in time for Thanksgiving, so cross rolls off of your holiday baking list!
Share this post with with your family and friends and help support Frontier!
All funds raised will be used for grade level field trips and all school performances/assemblies.

Have you heard that Frontier is filled with mathematicians? It's true, they're everywhere!
Take for example, these 4th graders in Mrs. Jermann's class. They were presented with a challenging task, and do you know what they did? They embraced the challenge, were flexible in their thinking, collaborated with their peers, and persisted until they had solved the problems presented to them.

Our first graders had a special visit from Boise Fire Department today. They learned about calling 911, what to do in the case of a fire, and spoke detectors. The kids loved seeing the firefighters in their full gear, and of course fire truck itself!

Congratulations, Mrs. Knam! She is the recipient of a $5,000 grant from the Idaho Commission for Libraries. She will use the grant to purchase new books for our school library.

It's official!
Last year's 5th graders were number one in the state of Idaho on their 2023 Science ISAT assessment. This is a HUGE accomplishment, and we couldn't be prouder of the hard work they put into the test. Of course we can't forget to recognize our 5th grade teachers, Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Carr, for their efforts to ensure their students were prepared for the test.

We've partnered up with Texas Roadhouse for this year's Fall Fundraiser. Students will be selling delicious rolls and honey butter.
To make tings simpler, students will be bringing a flyer home this week with a QR code to scan which will allow to order online. Don't have the QR code? No worries, you can order directly from this link:

Frontier will receive 50% of all rolls and butter sold, and 10% of all gift cards sold. PTO will be using the funds earned to pay for field trips, schoolwide assemblies/performances, and classroom tools for restoratives practices.

Thank you to our families, friends and staff that supported our school by dining in or ordering out at Texas Roadhouse last night. It was a deliciously fun evening for all!
Next week we will begin our fall fundraiser in partnership with Texas Roadhouse. Rolls and honey butter will be available to purchase and will arrive just before Thanksgiving. Be on the lookout for more information to come home early next week.

The students and staff at Frontier are lucky to have such an amazing custodial staff. A giant THANK YOU to Sami, Ali, and Tereza for ensuring our school is ready for our learners each day.

Our first graders had the best time learning about Idaho's agriculture at this year's FFA Ag Expo. Thank you to all of the hard working FFA members for creating such a memorable day for our learners!

This year Frontier has established a "buddy program" in which our younger learners have been paired up with our older learners to work on activities and projects together. Through the buddy program, out littlest learners will have the opportunity to watch their older buddy model learner behaviors and The Frontier Way. Additionally, our older learners will be able to reflect on how their behaviors can influence others through this leadership role.
On Friday, our first graders met with their fourth grade buddies for the first time. Our fourth graders did a great job engaging their buddies in conversation and making it a fun experience for their first grade friends.

It's Subaru Loves to Learn month, and Frontier Elementary has once again been adopted by Larry H. Miller Subaru Boise. We are so thankful for this community partnership. Not only did they donate much needed school supplies to each grade level, they also made a generous monetary contribution to Frontier.
Thank you for your partnership, @lhmsubaruboise for your generosity!

It was a wonderful first day of school at Frontier! We have the best students, families, and staff around. It's going to be a great year!

This week several of Frontier's students had the opportunity to attend Camp Invention. A main focus for this week's camp was learning how to code. We are thankful to WestAda's Federal Programs department for making this opportunity available to our students.

It may be summer, but that doesn't mean the learning stops.
This past week a team of Frontier teachers attended the 2023 Summer Summit on Visible Learning. Visible Learning occurs when teachers evaluate their role as the teacher, see learning through the eyes of their students, and help students become their own teachers.

Frontier has talent!
Our student put in the work and showed off their amazing talents at yesterday's annual talent show. Nice work, Kids!
