Reality town is a simulation activity that teaches 8th grade students to manage their finances, while recognizing education as a means to more financial stability. Students will be assigned a job and family situation and will receive a pay stub that details a monthly budget. From this budget, students will “purchase” transportation, housing, food, entertainment, and other necessities, as well as invest and practice savings habits. Volunteers are needed to run the booths at which students will identify the transportation, housing, etc., that meets both the needs of their family situation and their budget. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Materials & training will be provided on the day of the simulation.
* The volunteer times from 8:00 am until 11:30am on Thurs., Nov. 30th

In FCS with Mrs. Bower, students accurately measured water and sugar to make a rainbow today. Students had to find the correct equivalents in order to get the layering to work. Can you find the equivalent for 8 tablespoons of sugar? If you said ½ cup you correct!

As you may know, Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) statewide scores were recently released. These scores provide our staff with an opportunity to evaluate the performance of our students in Mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA) compared to our peers around the state. West Ada School District is ranked #1 amongst large traditional public-school districts in both ELA and Mathematics. Additionally, 16 of our schools were recognized as top 10 achievers in one or more specific categories as compared to similar districts and schools.
