Today's Pep Assembly led by our very well organized Student Council with their Advisor Mrs. Callaway, left some people's ears ringing with pep assembly joy! There was something for everyone to cheer whether it was the traditional sports and academic recognitions, the spirit competition, the Fuel Up to Play 60 Staff vs. Student Challenges, the wrestling on the mat expo, the hoop shoot winners or the slinging of T-shirts into the crowd. Great job, Kodiaks, keeping it positive and entertaining!

It's not too late to register for the POLAR PLUNGE at VMS in support of SPECIAL OLYMPICS in Idaho! 🙂 TOMORROW it is finally here!
The Special Olympics crew will be arriving 9 a.m. to set up the plunge pool and registration booth over by the tennis courts.
There will be a firetruck here to rapidly fill the pool around 10 a.m. Paramedics will be on site at 3 p.m. to show off the ambulance for students to look at and ask any questions.
Belonging and Co will be on site in the afternoon to set up to sell hot cocoa and coffee.
NJHS will be setting up a station to sell snacks; all proceeds will raise money for activities that benefit the community.
The Student Council is MCing the event and helping to clean afterwards.

Whether you are shopping for yourself to get more books to help you compete in our district's literary games or considering buying gifts for friends or family, you can definitely get great recommendations for books from our lovely librarians, Mrs. Bollinger and Mrs. Skaggs!

Abi Hunt was nominated for the student of the week recognition and selected for this week's acknowledgement. She will be recognized in the morning announcements as well as the Kodiak Family Update.
Below is what Ms. Cornell said about Abi.
"Abi is an amazing young lady with a generous heart and a quiet leadership style. She makes my day EVERY DAY! Not only do I get the privilege of enjoying her contagious smile, but her clear participation in class, her amazing efforts at doing well at no matter what she tackles, and her great attitude set her apart from other 8th graders. She's the whole Kodiak character package! And then you top it off with her extra efforts in NJHS and Future Cities, we are very lucky to have her at VMS! Thanks, Abi, for making my school days more enjoyable because of your presence and fantastic attitude."

Our wonderful Holiday Book Fair is here from Dec. 4-8 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
