The Spirit Store is now open! 8th grade girls will kick off their season at home on Tuesday, Oct. 24th at 4pm. Come and watch them Defend the Den!
Coach Stoor & Coach Ryan are excited for the new Spirit Store! There are some expensive items that are high quality, but we made sure there are also affordable items as well. There is about a one-week turnaround, and the items will be shipped to you.

Whether you are shopping for yourself to get more books to help you compete in our district's literary games or considering buying gifts for friends or family, you can definitely get great recommendations for books from our lovely librarians, Mrs. Bollinger and Mrs. Skaggs!
Thank you to everyone who helped with Reality Town for 8th graders. We had a ton of volunteers and staff that made this event happen. Thank you specifically to Shawna Manhire, Leslie Yingling, Leah Westfall, Sharon Hatler, and Kersten Kryazis.
CONGRATULATIONS to our STUDENT OF THE WEEK: Abi Hunt!
Abi Hunt was nominated for the student of the week recognition and selected for this week's acknowledgement. She will be recognized in the morning announcements as well as the Kodiak Family Update.
Below is what Ms. Cornell said about Abi.
"Abi is an amazing young lady with a generous heart and a quiet leadership style. She makes my day EVERY DAY! Not only do I get the privilege of enjoying her contagious smile, but her clear participation in class, her amazing efforts at doing well at no matter what she tackles, and her great attitude set her apart from other 8th graders. She's the whole Kodiak character package! And then you top it off with her extra efforts in NJHS and Future Cities, we are very lucky to have her at VMS! Thanks, Abi, for making my school days more enjoyable because of your presence and fantastic attitude."
Our wonderful Holiday Book Fair is here from Dec. 4-8 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
We will have books ranging from Pre-K to adult, “blind book” raffles, and a sucker pull!
TONIGHT the Tempest is starting at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria! Don't miss it!
Friday is the last day to watch it at VMS at 7 p.m. Feel free to come to these FREE performances on both days.

Fuel Up To Play 60 is hosting our annual Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest. The competition will begin at the first bell at 7:55am and will run through advisory.
(Serious hoop shooters only please- if you do not meet the minimum shots required, your shooting time will be finished and you will be asked to return to class)
Participants will shoot best out of 25 shots. Tie breakers will be in the form of a shoot out with best of 5 shots.
Top girl and boy from each grade level will be awarded a trophy!

Girls and Boys arrive to check in at the big gym at 7:55am and will be given a hoop shoot slip to turn into advisory to be excused.

You may only shoot once and must meet the minimum qualifications that will be given the day of the contest.
Only 3 warm up shots will be allowed.
