This evening, the West Ada School Board of Trustees approved the hire of Mrs. Melissa Hampton as Spalding STEM Academy's new principal. A few of the Spalding staff decided to attend the meeting to meet Mrs. Hampton and had a chance to take a quick picture with her after the meeting. Help us welcome Mrs. Hampton to the Spalding community! #SpaldingSTEM #ForOurKids
Spalding Teachers are continuing to attend classes and trainings this summer. Some of the most recent learning included: Mrs. Huffman, Mrs. Kalbfleisch, and Ms. Kisow attended a training about Reading on Thursday. And Mrs. Huffman, Mrs. Hernandez, and Mrs. Rosen attended a Math training on Friday. It's always a good day to be in a classroom 👩🏫 🦅#SpaldingSTEM #ForOurKids
Just a reminder that Spalding teachers developed these resources in case you are wondering what you children can do the rest of this summer to keep the learning going. We hope there are some ideas listed that you find helpful! #SpaldingSTEM #ForOurKids
It might be summer break, but many Spalding STEM teachers are spending time as students. One training that has been super engaging and beneficial this week is Thinking Maps! Teachers are excited to learn about thinking maps because we see how this training can accentuate our classroom instruction. (Not all teachers who attended are pictured 😊) #SpaldingSTEM #ForOurKids
Summer Break has begun! We hope all of our students have a fun, restful, and safe summer vacation! #SpaldingSTEM #ForOurKids
And the 2023-2024 School Year is a wrap at Spalding STEM Academy. It's been a great year of learning, connecting, and building community! Happy summer Spalding families! #SpaldingSTEM #ForOurKids

Last Friday, Spalding STEM 4th graders had a Rendezvous. Our afternoon was filled with learning activities inspired by Idaho History. Students panned for gold, made butter, learned about quilting, learned about native plants, and more. It was a fantastic day and was only possible because of the many volunteers we had! Thank you to our parents and community for helping our 4th grades learn about and celebrate Idaho's past. #SpaldingSTEM #ForOurKids
Spalding's Family Picnic is today at 11:30
On Monday, Students in Mrs. Huffman's class had a glow day! They spent time calculating area and perimeter, doing multi-step word problems, and reviewing fractions, multiplication/division and measurements. They also worked on glow editing, reading comprehension and had some great tic tac toe battles! They loved “glowing” what they know! #SpaldingSTEM #ForOurKids
Spalding STEM was so excited to have former Eagles visit today! West Ada Seniors who attended Spalding during my elementary school were invited to a graduation walk in our halls. Current students were excited and inspired by the Seniors in the Caps and Gowns! #SpaldingSTEM #ForOurKids
Tomorrow is our Kindergarten Music Program for families. Today, the Kindergartners practiced by performing for the school. They did a great job! #SpaldingSTEM #ForOurKids
Today is Voting Day!
