Not only do our kitchen heroes work starting at the crack of dawn to feed our kiddos breakfast and lunch each day, they do it with a smile, a kind word to all, and even make holidays fun by decorating the serving area.

Our first round of Enrichment Clubs concluded this week! Over 80 students participated in the following clubs: Number Fun, Crafts and Cookies, Circus Skills, Banana Splits, Work It Out, and Outrageous October Mysteries.
We want to give a special shoutout to Miss Trudy for putting so much effort into organizing these!

Free Dental Appointments
West Ada Community Service Center is excited to offer students an option for dental cleaning, fluoride, and sealants. West Ada School District and Delta Dental have teamed together to offer pediatric dental services for children in the West Ada School District that do not have Medicaid or private dental insurance. The clinic is located on the Meridian Elementary School campus. It offers no cost dental cleanings, fluoride and sealants to qualifying students.
West Ada Community Service Center has reserved appointments for students - please refer to the schools and corresponding dates listed below. If your student has no dental insurance and you would like to schedule a no cost dental appointment for cleaning, fluoride, or sealants for your student, please contact Delta Dental or your school nurse.

McMillan 1st through 5th grade students participated in team building activities on the first day of school. Through these activities, they were able to learn how to collaborate and work through challenges together, as well as understand the importance of listening.

We have had a great time celebrating our teachers this week, and we are so thankful for everything they do. We're finishing up the week with a Taco Station from Costa Vida!
This week's Eagle Spotlight is on our school's Social Worker, Shannon Shayne.
Shannon is dedicated to the well-being of ALL of the students at McMillan. She works hard to help them want to be at school, she helps take care of students' physical and mental needs, she is a friend to our students, and she is an incredible support to our staff! Shannon is an unsung hero at McMillan.
