The EMS Winter Dance is next Friday, the 9th from 5-6:30. Tickets are $5 at lunch or $7 at the door. There will be a DJ, 9 square, photo booth, pizza, and concessions. Make sure to wear white!
Eagle Middle is grateful for our wonderful SRO (School Resource Officer), Detective Kelch! He goes above and beyond for our school and community. He was recently recognized during our Reality Town event by Ada County Sheriff's Office for advancing his certification. Thank you for all you do!
Colt Class Highlight: Mrs. Coulter's classes have the opportunity to improve their cardio-respiratory endurance, flexibility and strength during their weight room rotation.

Mrs. Luque, our EMS Librarian hosted a book tasting for sixth grade students. Students were able to "taste"- read books of different genres and create a list of books they are interested in checking out. Head down to the EMS Library for a good book! #EMSColts #EagleMiddle
Eagle Middle celebrated our Veteran stakeholders on Friday. We hosted an assembly with performances from our band and choir, as well as a student-shared history lesson on Veteran's Day. Students recognized a large number of Veteran guests from the community. After the assembly students were able to explore a Blackhawk Helicopter that landed on our football field. The helicopter was piloted by an Eagle Middle graduate. Students were able to watch the helicopter take off at the end of the day. This weeks "You Rock" teacher of the week is Mrs. Jaspers. Thank you for all of your support in the classroom. You rock!
Colt Class Highlight: Mrs. Winter's 6th Grade math class worked on converting fractions to decimals, percent's, and ratios. They surveyed the classes favorite pizza toppings and created a pie chart to show the results. Students had to take the fraction of students that liked each topping and turn it into a decimal and a percent. They then multiplied their decimal by 360 to figure out how much space each topping would take up on their pizza pie chart.
Colt Class Highlight: Making Egyptian Cartouches out of clay in Mrs. Kirby's class. Students sculpted their initials out of clay to design their very own Cartouche.

Colt Class Highlight: Mrs. Peak's Earth Science class engineering earthquake proof buildings! Students tested their models in a Jell-O Earthquake lab.
