Congratulations to the students who will represent Idaho on the national level as our state's delegates for the United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP)! Our USSYP delegates are Emma Brulotte and William Tadje, with Avery Charles serving as 1st alternate and Amaia Clayton serving as 2nd alternate! “I’m so pleased to see Idaho students taking notice, taking part and really engaging with what’s going on in Idaho and around the county. Seeing these students participate in civic programs should give us all confidence that the future for these kids, and for Idaho, is bright,” Superintendent Sherri Ybarra said. “I’m also pleased to say that I have been fortunate enough to have Emma Brulotte’s leadership as a member of this year’s Student Advisory Council." Students selected for this prestigious and highly competitive program are chosen for their outstanding academic performance and demonstrated leadership in their school or community. Two delegates from each state and DC will receive a $10,000 scholarship and will participate in Washington Week, an opportunity for these young leaders to meet with high-level officials from each branch of government. We are very proud of our delegates and alternates for their achievements as student leaders! William Tadje is a senior at Eagle High School in the West Ada School District; Emma Brulotte is a senior at Canyon Ridge High School in the Twin Falls School District. Avery Charles is a senior at Eagle High School and Amaia Clayton is a senior at Renaissance High School in the West Ada School District.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🦃 💕 Thanksgiving is a good time to pause, reflect and be thankful for all that we have and all that we value. There is a great deal to be thankful for in West Ada and I am incredibly thankful for our school community. Our success as a school district would not be possible without your partnership. We are beyond grateful to have such committed educators, families and students and I am lucky to share in this journey of keeping children at the center of our hearts, our mission and in every decision we make. I look forward to reconnecting after the break, until then, have a safe and joyous start to the holiday season. I wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving! - Dr. Bub, Superintendent 🧡💛🤎

Congratulations to @wasd_cte and @mvhs_mavs senior Shelby Wallace, who signed a Student To Registered Apprenticeship Program (STRAP) agreement with Sheet Metal Workers Local 55 and will be employed as an apprentice with @ymcmechanical. This was signed at the “Pacific Northwest Education Conference” held at Boise Grove Hotel. This is such a great opportunity for Shelby, and we are proud of her accomplishments! What is the Student To Registered Apprenticeship Program? This is a program sponsored by @idaholabor where a student is hired by a partnership company and begins on the job training while still attending high school. After graduating from high school, the student will have completed a portion of the apprenticeship program and will continue working with employer in the apprenticeship program with an advancing wage scale.

Congratulations to @mvhs_mavs senior Chase Crawford on being the runner up for the Bright Future Scholarship hosted by @idaho_national_lab A senior at Mountain View High School Chase will receive a $6,500 scholarship for his response to the prompt: “How do the actual risks and benefits of nuclear energy compare with other existing energy technologies and those that will be part of the world’s Net-Zero future?” In his presentation, Chase made some conclusions, including that nuclear energy is essential to a realistic, economically viable net-zero future because of its ability to replace coal and other GHG-emitting energy forms as well as its constant available energy. Outside of school, Crawford enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and rock climbing. This figures in where he would like to go to college, most likely a place where mountains are not far away like Utah State University. Congratulations Chase!!!! We are beyond proud of you and this major accomplishment. #wearewestada #proudtobewasd

Emergency Medical Technician- EMT Basic is a yearlong capstone course offered as part of West Ada’s @wasd_cte pathways. When completed this program provides students the opportunity to take the National EMT exams needed to get certified as a pre-hospital care provider.
