Varsity Tutors- academic support services are available to all West Ada students in grades 3–12.
West Ada has partnered with Varsity Tutors to provide individualized tutoring and homework help to our West Ada students on demand. The service offers:
24/7 support: Students can log in through Clever anytime by clicking on the Varsity Tutors icon, selecting the subject they need help with, and then clicking CONNECT NOW. They will typically be paired with an expert tutor in about a minute.
Safe and secure connection: Tutors undergo a rigorous vetting process, and sessions are recorded and reviewed by a dedicated quality control team. Students’ identities are also anonymized.
Wide range of subjects: Students can get help in math, writing, world languages, AP® subjects, and more. Instruction is provided online, in an interactive classroom.
English and Spanish tutoring: Expert tutors are available to tutor students in English as well as Spanish for math, writing, science, social studies, and study skills subjects.
Text-chat or two-way voice: Students can opt to text-chat or speak with their tutor—whichever is more comfortable for them. Younger learners may opt to use voice, whereas older students may prefer text-chatting.
Empowering help: Tutors show students how to figure out problems themselves—never providing the answers— in an encouraging, judgment-free environment.
Drop-off writing review: Students can drop off their essay drafts for expert review and get detailed feedback within a day.
Test prep from The Princeton Review®: Middle and high school students may use self-paced SAT® and ACT® Essentials courses, also accessible in the Tutor.com platform on Clever.
Our chief aim for offering the service is to make enrichment accessible to all our 3–12 students across West Ada. Every student deserves a personal tutor, and we are dedicated to ensuring that everyone can get personalized support anytime. This service is also meant to empower students by giving them scaffolded support to help them feel comfortable getting homework help on their own. Finally, it is a tool that teachers can use in the classroom to provide every student with individualized help at the same time.
