This week at Renaissance High School, we are celebrating college applications week with fun, college-themed activities!
Dust off that old college sweatshirt and let's celebrate the class of 2024 at RHS!

Today we celebrate the unsung heroes in our buildings across the district. Thank you, custodians for all that you do!

Accreditation from Cognia is a valuable mark of distinction recognized around the world. Renaissance is excited to be recognized as a school that demonstrated evidence of high-quality teaching and learning. Through the rigorous accreditation process, we provided evidence of growth in learning, a healthy culture for learning and high-quality instructional environments. Only 33 institutions were recognized from approximately 1,100 around the world. Nice work, Voyagers!

Allison Chitwood represented the Renaissance Culinary FCCLA chapter at the national convention held in Denver, Colorado over the 4th of July. The city had a big celebration but there were also fireworks when Allison took the stage to receive 2nd place in the Culinary Arts competition! She outscored 69 other students and earned a $14,000 scholarship to the Culinary Institute of America where she will be attending school in the Fall. Congratulations Allison!

For the past 3 years, the Renaissance High School National Honor Society has been partnering with the Bureau of Land Management and their “Every Kid Outdoors” program. NHS students volunteered to assemble kits for all of the 4th graders in the West Ada District, as well as Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell. In recognition of their efforts, the chapter was recently awarded the 2022 National Bureau of Land Management Volunteer Outstanding Youth Award which was presented at their monthly club meeting on February 13th. The chapter’s involvement has helped make it possible for more than 15,000 students and their families to have free access to hundreds of parks, lands, and waters for an entire year!

Last week, RHS National Honors Society spent some of their community service honors preparing brown bags for the Meridian Anti-Drug Coalition. These brown bags will go out to local liquor stores in time for a statewide campaign against underage drinking.
