About the Replacement Levy:
On the ballot, you will find a measure directly impacting the quality of education and safety within our district: the West Ada School District Supplemental Levy. Understanding that this levy isn't a new tax but rather a replacement levy is vital, as it's designed to maintain crucial support for our educational programs.
• Salaries and benefits for 152 Teachers - $12,983,251
• Contracted Services for 19 Student Resource Officers - $867,404
• TOTAL ANNUAL LEVY AMOUNT: $13,850,655/year
Financial Implications:
The estimated average annual cost to taxpayers on the proposed levy is $27.13 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value, per year, based on current conditions. This proposed levy replaces an existing levy expiring on June 30, 2024, which currently costs $27.43 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value. Therefore, if approved, the proposed levy is expected to decrease the tax per $100,000 of taxable assessed value by $0.30.
Impact on Our Schools:
Funds generated from this replacement levy maintain high educational standards and safety within our schools. Today was great day for viewing the partial solar eclipse. Students were having a blast. Thank you to our PTA for purchasing solar eclipse glasses so we could view safely.

BIG NEWS…. The West Ada winter raffle is now open to all WASD middle and elementary schools for purchase. Here is your opportunity to support your kid’s school and have a chance at winning some amazing prizes. Tickets are available for purchase at www.westadafundraiser.com until January 17, 2024. Revenue from ticket sales will go directly to the school you choose to support.
Paramount Elementary students completed the Toy Drive on Friday, December 8th. There were so many toys donated the foyer was filled. The picture doesn't include all of the toys donated. The local Albertson's where Student Council dropped off the donations were so impressed with our students' generosity, they will be celebrating with them next week by serving them ice cream. Way to go Stars!!
We also brought in over $925 for our Coin Drive as well. We are so grateful to be able to help our own Paramount students this holiday season!

1st Snow of the Season
Who needs a "Snow Day" when we can have a School Day with Snow! It was a joyous day during recess today. Our students took full advantage of all of the fluffy snow.
With the start of winter storms, West Ada School District is again planning and ready for the possibility of school closures. The decision to close schools is a process that is not taken lightly by the district. As storms approach, district staff monitor weather forecasts in preparation to check road conditions during the night and into the early morning before the start of school. If school is canceled because of poor road conditions, information about the closure will be posted on the district website and local media will also be notified.
All efforts will be made to determine school closure due to winter driving conditions by 5 a.m. on the day of the closure in order to have adequate time to alert parents, students, staff and the community of the school closure.

Parents of Bus Riders
• While we strive for timeliness, busses do inevitably get caught in winter weather traffic. Please prepare your student(s) for the possibility of busses being 10-15 minutes late. Please make sure your student(s) is dressed appropriately. Here are some tips to better prepare.
Cold Weather Bus Stop Tips:
• As always, have students wear bright colors.
• Be cautious of anything dangling off clothing or backpacks as it can get caught on bus doors.
• Have student(s) wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing.
• Be sure hats and/or hoods do not obstruct the student(s) ability to hear and see traffic.
• Cover student(s) mouth to protect his/her lungs from extreme cold.
• Have student(s) wear shoes with good traction.
• Use the restroom before getting on the bus!
• Plan ahead for any medical needs your student may have on the bus.
Winter Weather Recess
• When temperatures are below 20 degrees students are kept inside rather than being released for recess.
🎉📚 Celebrating West Ada School District’s Remarkable Era of Achievement and Success! 📊🌟 🌟 Our School District has been on an incredible journey of academic achievement, and the results are in: our test scores have reached new heights! 📈🌠 🏆 Across the board, our students have shown remarkable growth and improvement ranking West Ada #1 amongst large traditional public-school districts in both ELA and Mathematics. 🔝Additionally, 16 of our schools were recognized as top 10 achievers in one or more specific categories as compared to similar districts and schools. Paramount Elementary ranked 5th in the state for ELA scores and 1st for Math. We are very proud of the students and staff at Paramount!!
Paramount was ranked as the 5th highest traditional school in Idaho for ELA ISAT proficiency scores (84.6%). 9 out of the top 10 schools were high schools!
