Dear Hunter Elementary Families,
At last night’s Board of Trustees meeting, a proposed geographic enrollment cap for Pleasant View Elementary was presented for consideration. As anticipated, Pleasant View has reached its enrollment capacity, and with continued residential growth to the west and south, capacity challenges are expected to increase over the next five years.
To proactively manage enrollment ahead of the scheduled boundary adjustment in the 2026-27 school year, we are proposing an enrollment cap for new K-4 students in a designated area beginning in the 2025-26 school year.
Under this proposal:
All new K-4 students in the designated area would enroll at Hunter Elementary starting in the 2025-26 school year.
Current Pleasant View students may remain at the school or opt to transfer to Hunter ahead of the boundary adjustment.
Hunter Elementary has the capacity to accommodate approximately 50 students affected by this change.
Pleasant View currently operates with a portable classroom, and no further expansion is possible. This proposed adjustment aims to balance enrollment while minimizing disruption for current students.
Designated Enrollment Cap Area:
North: McMillan Road
South: Ustick Road
East: Ten Mile Road
West: McDermott Road
