Congratulations to our December awards winners! We are so proud of your hard work and collaboration!

The countdown to winter break is almost over! Join us in the festivities by taking part in our holiday dress-up days!

When you go grocery shopping this weekend, considering picking up some extra food to donate to our Thanksgiving Food Drive! Our school partners with the Meridian Food Bank to provide meals to our students and families every weekend. Please help us show our appreciation by donating some non-perishable food items! If our school can fill all 4 barrels with food donations, Thunder will get to smear a pie in Mrs. Amos' face!

Congratulations to the students that were recognized at our September awards ceremony! Each month, students will be presented with the following acknowledgments at a school-wide assembly. We were lucky to have some special visitors to kick off the first assembly of the year--- shoutout to Thunder and Officer Johnson!

Exciting news! Solekids registration has now started! Our first week of practice was last week, but it is NOT too late to sign-up! If you are unfamiliar with SoleKids, it is an afterschool running program not affiliated with West Ada School district. We have practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 4pm-5:30pm. Our BIG race will be held November 16th at Boise State. It is an exciting race, and the kids love to participate in it! Students who register will receive a water bottle, bag and snacks each time they come to practice. Kids who come to race day, run, and finish the race will earn a beautiful medal just for finishing! Parents, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents are ALL allowed to run/walk with their child during the ENTIRE race! It's exciting, the kids love it, and it's a great way to fight the winter blues! We are excited to see you out there and run/walk with you! Hope to see you on Tuesday! Click on the link below to register:

Happy 100th Day of School! We had dozens of jump roping grannies yesterday!

Congratulations to our 4th graders on their wonderful holiday performance yesterday!

What a happy accident! Meet Mimi, the 90,000 cubic foot hot air balloon. Due to unexpected winds, Discovery became the safest available landing ground. This was an experience our students and staff will never forget!

From November 13th - 17th, Discovery will be hosting a Food Drive to support the Meridian Food Bank. Last year, the Meridian Food Bank distributed 19,689 food bags to over 500 students. They also provide emergency food supplies to families in need. Please join us in giving back to this generous organization just in time for Thanksgiving!

Thank you to the Meridian Police Department for taking the time to teach our students about their K9 dogs! The students loved meeting Officer Marston and Wyatt to kick off Red Ribbon Week.

Discovery's fall book fair will take place October 30th - November 2nd! Students will preview the books and prepare their wish lists this week, then begin purchasing on October 30th. See the flyer for more details!

The Discovery Staff is looking forward to meeting with all families during Parent-Teacher Conferences today and tomorrow! Please note that, due to conferences, there will be no school on October 12th or 13th.
