West Ada School Community,
As you may know, Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) statewide scores were recently released. These scores provide our staff with an opportunity to evaluate the performance of our students in Mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA) compared to our peers around the state. West Ada School District is ranked #1 amongst large traditional public-school districts in both ELA and Mathematics. Additionally, 16 of our schools were recognized as top 10 achievers in one or more specific categories as compared to similar districts and schools.
As Superintendent, I am beyond proud of the results we received and grateful for the many partners that contributed to our collective success. I know our community will be proud of these results and continue to strive for student success. It’s also important to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts that contributed to this remarkable recognition of student achievement.
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to each of you for your outstanding dedication, hard work, and steadfast commitment to excellence. Students, congratulations! Thank you for your efforts and dedication to your learning journey. Parents, your support of our students and schools is foundational to our accomplishments. Support staff, thank you for creating an environment that allows all our 40,000 students the opportunity to achieve their academic endeavors. Teachers, thank you for your resilience and commitment to making sure that every student is provided challenging learning opportunities - your hard work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Administrators, your collaborative leadership, and commitment to best first instruction provides a platform for our schools to be successful, thank you. Finally, our Board of Trustees, your unwavering dedication to our community and continued guidance and support is integral to student achievement and our overall success. This achievement is a testament to the relentless efforts found throughout West Ada and the remarkable collaboration that takes place.
Our assessment scores are the principal benchmarks for measuring learning, but they go beyond just numbers; they represent the dedication and enthusiasm you all bring to our buildings every day. You have demonstrated that with teamwork, determination, and a continued focus on personalized student success, collectively, we can ensure college and career readiness for our students.
Once again, thank you for your exceptional devotion. Let's continue to inspire, educate, and empower our students, setting the bar higher and higher each day as we “prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s challenges.”
In partnership,
Dr. Derek Bub, Superintendent
