Idaho’s one-stop educational shop! Created by the Idaho State Board of Education, Next Steps Idaho makes college and career readiness resources available to Idahoans of every age—all the way from eighth grade to adults looking for a career change or advancement.

Grade-by-grade comprehensive guides help youth prepare for life after high school, while a robust career library walks job-seekers through clear, various, and accessible professional pathways. Next Steps Idaho also offers rigorous and customizable lesson plans—meaning districts, schools, and mentors are unburdened by content development.

Launched in 2016 with funds from a College Access Challenge Grant to reach disadvantaged students, Next Steps Idaho evolved into an online career readiness clearinghouse with activities for all Idahoans in grades 7-12. In 2020, Next Steps Idaho partnered with Idaho employers and the state’s Workforce Development Council to expand again, this time to improve career readiness and job fulfillment for adults.
