To provide culturally and linguistically diverse learners with equitable access to cohesive learning opportunities that accelerate their social and academic English, provide meaningful access to grade-level content, and increase their overall achievement within their home school.

Enrollment for ML Students

Schools should notify our district's ML Intake Specialists when enrolling any student who speaks a language other than English. Our ML Intake Specialists work out of the district office, which is located at 1303 E. Central Dr., Meridian, ID. Once a student is identified as having a language other than English, the specialist gives the student the WIDA Screener to determine the student's English proficiency level. If the student qualifies for English Language Development (ELD) services, the parent/guardian and school will be notified.
