We understand that staying connected is essential for your child's education, especially in today's digital world. Previously, West Ada provided free Hotspots to students in need via Federal COVID Relief Funds. Unfortunately, this funding is no longer available.
Despite these challenges, some families may still require a hotspot due to demonstrated need or temporary extenuating circumstances. In response, the District has implemented a new Hotspot program allowing students with demonstrated needs to receive a free Hotspot (100GB/Year). This ensures students have Wi-Fi access to complete school-related assignments and homework that requires internet connectivity from home.
How to Request a Hotspot
Before requesting a hotspot, we encourage families to seek assistance through the Affordable Connectivity Program provided by the state of Idaho for additional Internet connectivity support.
West Ada School District has limited hotspots available for families. Parents/Guardians may "Request a Hotspot" via the West Ada Support Portal. Parents/Guardians must have or create a support portal account with their corresponding email from their PowerSchool account.
Changes to the Hotspot Program for 2023-2024
The District will continue to provide T-9 hotspots from T-Mobile. A limited number of hotspots are available; each hotspot is limited to 100GB of data per year. Deployment of hotspots will be prioritized for families with the highest need.
At West Ada School District, we remain committed to supporting our students and families in every way possible. We understand the importance of reliable internet access for remote learning, assignments, and educational resources. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
