Paying for College

FAFSA Application

Opens October 1st

  • Families of high school seniors:

    • Students may apply for financial aid for college starting October 1st.

    • Many colleges require that the FAFSA be filled out BEFORE February 15!

    • The deadline for FAFSA applications is June 30.

Remember: Financial aid deadlines are not the same as college admission deadlines. The FAFSA must be filed every year a student is in school.

Fast Forward Funding

The Fast Forward program provides every student attending an Idaho public school an allocation of $4,125.00 to use towards Advanced Opportunities in grades 7-12. The program was expanded by the Legislature in 2016 through the passing of House Bill 458.

  • Fast Forward funds can be used to pay for IDLA courses, concurrent credits, AP exams, some CTE test fees, and overload courses.

  • The Portal is open for a specific time frame for Fall, Spring, and Summer Classes (strict deadline set by the state).

* Registering for IDLA courses and requesting Fast Forward Funds are separate actions.

** To register for IDLA courses, please contact your counselor.
