About Me

Hello! My name is Dallas Brady, and I am the school counselor at Seven Oaks Elementary.

I grew up in Kuna, Idaho and spent a lot of time in Eagle with my family. I graduated from Boise State University with my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and graduated from Boise State with my Master of Art in Counseling. This is my 6th year in West Ada School District, and I have loved coming back! In my time outside of school counseling, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two kids, and two dogs. I love spending time in nature, crafting, and connecting with others.

As a school counselor, I look forward to connecting families with needed resources, providing school-wide guidance lessons, facilitating small groups, and meeting with individual students. I genuinely enjoy teaching coping and problem-solving skills, as well as helping others. I look forward to working with students and their families!

Seven Oaks Counseling Program

The counseling program at Seven Oaks Elementary is designed to reach the entire student population and help support the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students. School counseling services include classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, short-term individual counseling, parent consultation, and community resource referrals.

The Role of the School Counselor:

  • Promote a safe and caring environment for all students.

  • Supports students with personal, social & academic goals

  • Mediate conflicts among students to find safe and healthy resolutions

  • Offer short-term, solution-focused, individual and group counseling

  • Teach whole group class lessons with district approved curriculum

  • Observe students in various settings

  • Consult and collaborate with parents, staff, and community agencies

  • Provide community referrals and resources for families

  • 504 Accommodation Case Manager

  • Provide support during a crisis

Referral Process:

  • Referrals for students to see the school counselor typically come from parents, staff or student

  • Students can fill in a counselor slip, found in each classroom or my mailbox, and drop it in the mailbox of the counselor

  • Staff and parents may contact the counselor at any time via phone or email

Please Note: School counselors do not provide on-going individual counseling or therapy in the school setting. Referrals to outside agencies and services are available for your child upon request.

Statement of Confidentiality:  The counseling relationship between students and their school counselor requires an atmosphere of trust and confidence. Students will be informed that exceptions to confidentiality exist in which counselors must inform others of information they obtained in the counseling relationship in order to prevent serious and foreseeable harm to students themselves or others, or if the information is legally required to be shared.

Per the Parents Rights Act of 2023, parents have a right to be notified of any mental, emotional, or physical health or well-being. School counselors will inform students of contacting parents in such instances as part of the Statement of Confidentiality. Parents may opt out of receiving notifications of such changes or opt out of counseling services altogether via PowerSchool forms.

Social Emotional Learning

At Seven Oaks Elementary we are dedicated to supporting students' social and emotional needs.  Through Social Emotional Learning (SEL) we help students learn how to manage their emotions and self-regulate in times of stress and crisis. SEL is taught through the use of Zones of Regulation, Toolbox and Little Spot.
