DEAR PARENTS AND CHEER CANDIDATES,

It’s that time of year again! Cheer tryouts for the 2024-2025 season are coming up and I’m excited to see the upcoming talent at Rocky Mountain High School. Although cheerleading is fun, it also requires a lot of hard work, time, and dedication year-round. This sport is not for everyone, so be sure to thoroughly read over the following details so you can determine whether this is something you can commit to prior to trying out.

You cannot have any failing grades in order to be eligible to try out.
All eligible girls and boys, grades 8-11 are welcome.
Open Gyms | April 17th 7pm-9pm and April 24th 6pm to 8pm | RMHS Upper North Gym
Pre-Tryout Meeting | April 22nd 7:00pm | RMHS Library | Cheerleader & at least 1 Parent must attend.
Tryout Registration, all signed waivers and headshots are due before the first day of tryouts.
Tryouts | May 1st, 2nd and 3rd 4:00pm to 7:00pm | RMHS Main Gym
*New Team Fitting | May 4th 1:00pm | RMHS library
* New Team Parent Meeting | May 6th 7:00pm | RMHS library | Cheerleaders & at least 1 Parent must attend.
*You cannot try out if you are not enrolled at Rocky for next year or have an approved transfer.
*Once you try out at one school, you cannot try out at another.

You should arrive on time wearing black shorts, a fitted white t-shirt or athletic tank (no spaghetti straps/adequate chest coverage), and cheer or athletic shoes. Your hair should be worn in a secure ponytail. Bangs should be pulled out of your face. Please remove all jewelry and chewing gum. You can expect to learn a dance, a cheer, and have an opportunity to display such skills as jumps, tumbling, light stunting, and conditioning.

Rocky Mountain High School is a wonderful community to be a part of! Our team members are capable, hard-working, amazing athletes and we are excited to build on this year’s success as we move forward together! There are some exciting opportunities on the horizon for our program as we anticipate more travel, training clinics, and opportunities to perform!
