MICRON JOB SHADOW DAY
Job Shadow Day happens in the fall and spring at Micron. This is for students in 11th & 12th grades that have an interest in Chemistry, Physics & Semiconductor related Engineering fields. A limited number per school so let me know if you're interested.
US Senate Youth Program
The United States Youth Senate Program Scholarship is an exceptional initiative aimed at empowering young individuals to become active and engaged citizens while providing them with a chance to receive a $10,000 scholarship for higher education and a free trip to Washington D.C. to experience government in action as one of two state delegates. Eligibility: The scholarship is open to junior and senior school leaders currently enrolled in Idaho schools
Deadline: The application closes in October

Leadership Boise Academy
What is Leadership Boise Academy (LBA)?
LBA is an opportunity for motivated high school juniors who exemplify leadership qualities and express an interest in gaining a better understanding of the unique and challenging issues facing their community. This event lasts a few months and begins in January of each year for high school juniors and has specific days that you attend so you will need your own transportation. These absences are excused.
Why participate?
Through the LBA program, you will learn more about your community and expand your perspectives while also developing your leadership potential, discussing pertinent issues with peers and community leaders, and exploring career options.
How much does it cost?
LBA is FREE to students who are chosen through the application process and includes breakfast, lunch, and transportation on the day of the sessions.
How do I Apply:
Be a student currently enrolled in 11th grade
Express an interest to your guidance counselor
Commit to 100% attendance at all sessions
Complete the online application by Friday, October 16
Attend the in-person interview
Boys/Girls State
Girls / Boys State is an outstanding opportunity for junior students. This is a fast-paced, hands-on experience which teaches Americanism and the political process. Attendees are divided into cities, counties, and political parties; delegates participate in mock government by developing city responsibilities, running for political office, and debating and passing legislation. Two delegates from Idaho will be selected to participate as "State Senators" at Girls or Boys Nation in Washington, DC.
Students can also take advantage of earning Political Science college credit. Advanced Opportunities may be available to pay for college course fees.
