Katie Edwards comes from the Midwest. She started her career in the small town of Mackinaw, IL where she graduated from Dee-Mack High School. Upon graduating, Katie made the move to Milwaukee, WI where she played DIII softball for Mount Mary University as a catcher. She was a 4-year starter and graduated with multiple honors and still holds several school records. Katie's goal was to leave the softball program better than when she started, which is exactly what she did. After graduating, Katie stayed around Milwaukee and helped bring in new recruits to improve the program and assistant coached for two years. A short time later, a job opportunity took her to Richmond, VA where she spent her free time assistant coaching the VA Impact 12u and 14u teams. In February of 2020, Katie made the move West to Boise, ID and is currently working full time as an Interior Designer for an architectural firm downtown. Katie spends what free time she has coaching 1 on 1 hitting and catching lessons and is involved in the 208 Slowpitch community with managing and playing two teams.
In 2022, Coach Edwards let the Storm JV team to a season record of 20-2 and were District Runner-Ups. The following year, the Storm JV went 15-1 and won District Championships. That year, Coach Edwards was awarded the Sub-Varsity District III Coach of the Year.
