Athletic Training & Sports Medicine
Athletic training services provided to Centennial High School student athletes include injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergency care, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Athletic Trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who provide these services under the direction and in collaboration with their team physician. The sports medicine team consists of the athletic trainer, the team physician, the physical therapist, and other health care providers who assist in keeping the student athletes safe and injury-free.

Meet our Staff

Ryan Horton, MS, LAT, ATC
Head Athletic Trainer
Ryan graduated from California Baptist University with his master’s in athletic training and his bachelor’s in kinesiology from California State University of Fullerton. He spent 5 years working as the Head Athletic Trainer and Sports Medicine Teacher in Seattle before joining the West Ada School District and replacing the great Eric Taylor. 2024-25 is his first year as the Head Athletic Trainer at Centennial where he is the HOSA advisor and teaches Sports Medicine II and III.

Hunter Johnson, MS, LAT, ATC
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Hunter graduated from University of Idaho with his bachelor's degree in exercise science and health sciences, then continued at the University of Idaho and received his master's degree in athletic training. 2024-25 school year is Hunter’s second year at Centennial High School as Teacher and Athletic Trainer where he teaches Intro to Health Professions, is a HOSA advisor, and the Assistant Athletic Trainer.
