Hello Cecil D. Andrus Elementary Families,

I am humbled and honored to serve as the principal of Cecil D. Andrus Elementary School.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community.  I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students and families.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty years.  I have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 8th grade in a variety of roles. I have been a classroom teacher, a Gifted and Talented Facilitator, a Virtual Classroom Teacher, a K-5 Instructional Coach, and most recently, I have served as the Assistant Principal at Meridian Elementary. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Lewis-Clark State College, a Master’s of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Boise State University, a State of Idaho Gifted and Talented Endorsement, and an Executive Educational Specialist/Superintendency Degree from Boise State University. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to Andrus Elementary and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

On a personal note, my husband is an Academic Math Coach in the West Ada School District.  Our son and daughter both attend Mountain View High School.  We are proud to be part of the West Ada School District, one that values high standards by providing rich learning experiences for all students. As a family, we enjoy golf, volleyball, fly fishing, and traveling.

I view education as a life-long process and look forward to continuing to learn much about the uniqueness of Andrus Elementary this year and in the years to come.  Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions.  I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students.  Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I sincerely welcome your conversation and input at any point.
