Cecil D. Andrus Elementary is a K-5 public school in a suburban community.  The school was opened in the fall of 1997 and was named in honor of the state's former governor and school advocate Cecil D. Andrus.  We follow a traditional school calendar.  Our school offers students rigor in academics and varied opportunities to participate in community service, extra-curricular activities, and fine arts.  The staff at Andrus uses a collaborative model for goal setting and planning instruction.  They bring experience and expertise to the classroom and are continually furthering their own education.  Review of achievement data and discipline patterns to improve school performance are an integral part of our school culture.  The staff makes deliberate efforts to provide students a safe, friendly, and encouraging learning environment.  Parents at Andrus are active and supportive in the classroom, in fundraising, and at home.  They are truly partners in the education of their children.  Our students are well behaved, eager to learn, and the focus of our decision making.  Andrus has consistently received approved accreditation status from the state of Idaho and has been honored for the last three years as a school of excellence by the Idaho Teacher's Association.
